Stainless steel
Passivation
Passivation removes free iron contamination from stainless steel and restores the chromium-rich oxide layer, improving corrosion resistance with no measurable coating added. We use the citric process — an environmentally friendlier alternative to nitric — to AMS 2700 Type 2. For aluminium and zinc conversion coatings, see our conversion coatings service.
